"Unusual Premise" according to Gwen A. Kozlowski. I accidentally read this book out of order (it's book three of the Wallflower series) but it stands on its own very well. I loved the author's choice of unusual subject matter for a Regency romance- rape and how one finally is able to move past it.. I wanted to love this book I really tried to love this book. I just found it to be hard to get through.It is a very dark book, and given the subject material that is totally understandable and acceptable. You cannot have sunshine and rainbows all the time, I get that. And bad things happen to good people, I get that too. But this book was just depressing to me.Then there is the whole flashback thing. I am not a fan of flashbacks. Sometimes it is necessary and in this book it was needed. But the insertion. on the whole the story did wrap up nicely with two characters who find, deservedly so, a happy ending. The second title in this series I have read, the three ladies in this trilogy are scrambling to find husbands before the 100th anniversary of their finishing school, an event they are all expected to attend and glitter through.
