Being a grandmother to an eight year old grandson with Autism, I know how tricky it can get at family gatherings. Written for children who are severely to profoundly disabled This book is very thorough, and does a good job of laying out a step by step plan for going on outings with children who are on the more severely to profoundly disabled end of the spectrum. Some of the techniques can be modified for higher functioning children, however for the most part these children are ignored in this book.My only other concern is that these techniques are very ambitious.
