An excellent primer for students of Spenser across a wide range An excellent primer for students of Spenser across a wide range of critical inquiry. Required reading for undergrads interested in in Renaissance studies and graduate students in general. Especially useful are the recommended readings and bibliographies. Worth the price, and superior to the Cambridge Companion on Spenser, which is otherwise equally indispensable for a critical overview.
