Terry Gentry said Great gothic mystery!. I really enjoyed this book. It was in the tradition of writers like Victoria Holt, with wonderful spooky settings and hidden dangers. And it had a great and unexpected twist at the end. I hope to see more from this author!!. "Predictable but enjoyable" according to Kim F.. This book was an interesting combination of somewhat simplistic writing and more polished writing - almost as if it started as a first attempt, then the author rewriting sections. It's not bad, just a bit odd.The plot is almost completely predictable, but there were some good variations and twists that kept it interesting. Overall, I liked the story and was willing to overlook some of the amateurish sections.
