Good Character development, with lots of twists, maybe even a Budding Romance, though only Time will tell. There does seem to be Trouble Brewing in the Almalgamated Races that could develop into a High Adventure for a Navel Inteligence Officer, and her Partner Guardian Zach Lynten. Good read overall.. There was no real depth the to the characters and the focus of the book was such that you could not tell which character you were expected to emphasize with.. The right mix of aliens, human intrigue, heroism and folly, a grand Galactic confederation, wimpy bureaucratic members thereof and a menacing evil race just waiting for their chance. And the guy can write.
