Not my sort of romance kshrop If the reader is into rape and brutality then this is their sort of book.The heroine's mother is kidnapped by Vikings and sold as a slave. Her master has buried two wives who died in childbirth -- along with the babies. By that time the girl was 15 and he takes note of her beauty. She becomes his next wife after he has bedded her.One of their sons goes to war and is awarded some property. A lovely girl is there. Her father, brothers and betrothed had died in the fighting. Her grandfather is dying but he wants her married before he goes. So the new maste. Their love story was sweet This was an interesting story from an historical point of view. I followed the history of the Saxons and the Normans and the invasion of England. A story about a young man and a young woman. Their lives growing up and how they intersect during the invasion. Their love story was sweet, but not my kind of story. Thing begin just a little too violently than I like, but after a while it was okay. The book was well written, but not really my kind of book. Not enough action or emotion in it.
