"Shaken to the core" according to Nancy E. Guerriero. I love Jae`s Books. Her attention to detail of the time periods she writes about just makes you believe you are there. her characters are endearing and you just want the best for them as they struggle through the challenges of the time. I found out things about the San Francisco fire that I hadn`t really thought about.. A littlensloe Amazon Customer I thought this book was slow to take off but eventually found it more interesting. A good light read. Would have liked to have more details at the end.. "Hoping for more." according to Sharon D. Spiller. This book had so much potential Rather than being a romance novel, however, this is a novel of attraction and yearning that never truly seems to get off the ground. On one hand, you have a novel that absolutely works from an historical perspective. The period detail is wonderful and there is no doubt she did her research. The secondary characters are fully realized and a lot more interesting than the main protagonist
