"An Intimate History of HIV Prevention in Kenya" according to B. A. Anderson. I call Piecing the Puzzle an intimate history of HIV prevention in Kenya because Larry Krotz spent several years chronicling this important collaboration between scientists from many nations. He became close with many of the main characters, and his proximity to the story is evident in the book. The story is fascinating and well written, and I especially appreciated the very candid assessments that some of the scientists express about the shortcomings of and tensions within the campaign to halt the spread of HIV.
