"Historically accurate" according to *Anon*. Although Dover has huge historically accurate designs they tend to be a little short on the full color reference books. I love this one for trying to span a number of patterns world-wide. If you want new and different rather than historical you should use Dover linears to help you have an accurate baseline, then get your paints, inks output on related music and have fun creating your own originals. Too heavy on Art Nouveau patterns 19 pages, Too little of ethnic patterns such as Chinese,Persia,Turkey,Hawaii,Uzbekistan all 5 combined-13 pages total.
