Great story, good translation damarques Great story and very light reading! It was cool to compare the original with the Portuguese translation. Although the translation is very good in general, in some parts they changed the original meaning. I recommend the excellent audiobook narrated by Humphrey Bower.. Interesting I would not recommend this to anyone who is not fluent in Portuguese. It seemed difficult for me, and much to my surprise the edition included the English version, which I then read. No wonder I had had difficulty reading it in Portuguese; the writing style is peculiar.. "Great literary work" according to NEIDE R POYART. Excellent book! Even if you saw the film first, the story holds the reader from the beginning to the end.
