I Have read all but one of Kearsley's novels and like some better than others. This was enjoyable, but it is not one of my favorites. It is set primarily in Wales and her descriptions of the countryside, the little town of Angle and the nearby castle make me want to go there. I thought the characters were well drawn. I thought the plot was not quite as good as some of her other ones though.Lyn, the protagonist, had lost her baby in childbirth about five years previously and she continue. "Very dull, not worth reading." according to Kelsey. I'm really disappointed in this book. I've only read three other novels by Susanna Kearsley ( The Winter Sea, The Firebird, and A Desperate Fortune), but they were all wonderful reads that I never wanted to put down. I quickly fell in love with those novels and Susanna Kearsley quickly became a new favorite author. This novel however was extremely slow paced and nothing ever really happened.
