They found good land and favorable conditions for farming in Canada and prospered there. The author remembers his childhood life in the log cabin and looks back after fifty years of progress with affection and amazement. I confess I was more interested in the pioneer life stories than in the political developement of Canada and so did not read every chapter. It is a pleasant and informative book.. I still think it would be of interest to those who like to read about the "good old days", or those who are into Canadian history.
