Poetry that needs to be spread far and wide nerdy girl La Shawna's poetry touched on every issue one person will ever face in one lifetime, beautifully and in raw form. S.O.S. and I Am A Queen gave me chills, and touched me the most. This book should be spread far and wide, and made available to everyone that has ever faced depression and abuse. At some point. bohemianpoet said Great Read!. LaShawna is a great emerging poet with a bold pen. Her work is emotionally free and shows her ability, as well as her range. From themes of love, politics, to life issues and womanhood, she truly unlocks the door in an original style. Very enjoyable to read. My favorite poem, "You Want this Old Woman to F. About the Author La Shawna Griffith is an emerging poet who was born and resides in beautiful Barbados. Her goal is to become a voice for the voiceless, a hope and an inspiration. She truly loves writing pieces to promote change in the world. She is twenty one years of age and a final year University Student completing her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. Why is this? Due to La Shawna aspiring to be a great literary legend like her idol and role model Miss Maya Angelou who was a phenomenal poet and revolutionary and it is no surprise that La Shawna’s favorite poem by her is “I know Why The Caged Bird Sings” What does poetry mean to her ?
