Dobbs Black assures his audience that his son, Anderson, is afflicted and possessed by demons. But what verifiable proof does he offer? The eye-witness testimony that matters most is offered by his son who has hardly proved himself to be a credible witness for all his endeavors, including illegal drug trafficking and possible use (p. 48). None of it is proven, and the evidence that might exist is withheld from the reader (p. 69 - the name of the cemetery; p
