This book, also called the story of Emily Tappan, was first written in 1856 for the Massachusetts Sabbath school society and has been republished by grace and truth books. Because it was written so long ago the language is a little archaic and often sounds stilted, though also, probably again because it was written so long ago, it is well written with a good use of language. The average child though would probably find it easier to have this book read to them than to read it themselves. The book is also a little preachy by today's standards.F
