This easy-to-read book lays out the foundation of the environmental movement, traces its history and finishes with good recommendations for how we as individuals can have a positive impact.My only wish is for the author to update the book as we enter the second decade of the 21st century.I highly recommend this book to middle school and high school students and teachers.

The author deftly incorporates a wide range of topics from the establishment of national parks to the threat of global warming. . Although he includes information about people who have played important roles in preserving the environment, his focus is not biographical.
