Great ending but a long middle that dragged Farnoosh Brock I really struggled with this book until about 2 hours (audio version) to the very end. Considering that it is 20 hours long, that is a whole lot of struggling. The beginning was great. The end blew me away - I did NOT see that coming - and the middle, well, dragged.Why did I choose this book? I wanted more of Kimberley Freeman after her stunning book, Wildflower Hill, and I was hooked by her style and mesmerized by the story of Beattie to no end. It was done to perfection.Authors refine their cr. Aurora Grace said Slow at the beginning, great ending. This book took a little while to get going, but I adore the author from reading Wildflower Hill and trusted that if I kept reading, it would be worth the effort. It was. As more and more mysteries and intriguing characters were added, I became much more engrossed in the book, and it had a kick-ass ending. If you read and enjoyed Wildflower Hill, I think you'll still enjoy this, but probably not quite as much. And if you enjoyed this book and haven't checked out Wildflower Hill yet, definitely do.
