About the AuthorHans Augusto Rey was born in Hamburg, Germany in 1898. The manuscript for the first Curious George books was one of the few items the Reys carried with them on their bicycles when they escaped from Paris in 1940. He then married Margret Rey and they moved to Montmartre for four years. After serving in the army during World War I, he studied philology and natural science at the University of Hamburg. Marren We bought this book for our slightly-more-than-2-year-old twin grandsons, and they loved it. At this age, they're more interested in identifying the pictures than following the story, but that's ok. There's something about the monkey image that is endlessly fascinating to them. All two-year-olds love monkeys. Go for it!. A Customer said Great Way to Teach Emotions. This book was not at all what I expected. At first I wasn't sure I would like it, but the response from my one year old son was excellent. He really enjoys learning about all the different emotions George feels. We also spend a lot of time talking about being naught and getting a time out. I think it helps a little with understanding.
