DESCRIPTION:
An interesting book from an "insider" Sombervasi Crowned in a Far Country contains seven chapters about eight royal brides, covering their life from childhood and family background through marriage to later years. It provides a number of interesting details about them.It reads well. The author is Princess Michael of Kent, who. L. Stein said nice, but not more than that.. I found the book to be informative, easy to read yet the writing was somewhat simple, without depth. What I mean is, that the stories were interesting (to me or any other royal watcher) yet I wasn't captivated. It was a book which gave me information, but I can't say "I couldn't. "Five Stars" according to Cammie M. Royce. I love her history of the past and the person. A very interesting book.

More than just a window into the politics and power brokering of royal marriage, Crowned in a Far Country charts the transformations of privileged princesses into women of power and historical importance.. Some were good wives; some were caring mothers. They were all catalysts, the pivots of their worlds for a time. Though of eminent birth and status in their own right, the women of Crowned in a Far Country all left the countries of their birth to marry heirs to great thrones. They all shared an inbred sense of duty and a genuine desire to see it performed. None fought against what she saw as her destiny but only sought to fulfill it. Some were passionate, others less so
