Fallon Any new series of novellas is likely to have a slower start due to giving time to figuring out who the characters are but even though this was the case for the first book, which was by no means bad just not as good as the following books, there was a clear indication of the potential for this series.Casey is intelligent and no-nonsense and Zane, her ex but also responsible for putting funding up to start the South Lane Detective. Boring characters and not likeable. Skip this set. Too bad you can't like the main characters. They are irritating, rude and unenjoyable. They have no depth and feel like they were painted on the pages. Rich people come off as totally rude towards anyone who is not wealthy. They don't bill for their services but get paid huge amounts. The rich people they come across are quite sexist and elitist, but instead of being offended by them I find them funny, and actually feel a bit sorry f
