This book is basically what you've always gotten in the past--short passages and comprehension questions. It was not at all helpful in providing passages for close reading. Everything was "right there", and needed no deeper thinking--a hallmark of close reading.. BEST QUICK TEST REVIEW BOOK This is a great book for daily quick check of children's mastery of reading skills. It could be used in centers or as whole class instruction. It is a must have for the busy teacher who has to teach and prepare students for the state test too.
