glad-to-see-this-back-in-print I have a very well-worn hardback copy of this book that was the textbook for a community college class that I took back in the 1980's. While my graduate classes in classical mythology at Johns Hopkins used different texts, I always found this one to be the best. I'm so glad to see that it's available once again.. Didn't fufill the potential Mary Hunt The author writes clearly and the explanations of myths are enjoyable. But when it comes to representations of mythology in literature, art and music, he has dead white guy syndrome. The literature examples are from a few authors used over and over from high brow literature that people who are not English majors are not very familiar with, and you have to slog through poetry in hard-to-read old styles of English.
