I was so disappointed when I heard that the publisher has dropped this series and that there will be no fourth book to follow this one. This series, imo, was very underrated. At a time when there is an overabundance in urban fantasy of vampires and werewolves and fairies, it was so refreshing to read a series that was so different and had alien. It made them much more frightening and creepy and you never knew where the story was going to go or how they would be beaten and/. "Three Stars" according to SEMC. Good series, but abandoned.. "Get some rest first; you'll be up all night with this one." according to Tiffany B.. This is my favorite of the Twenty Palaces books. Why? So glad you asked. With two encounters with predators under his belt, Ray finally has some idea of what they are, how they work, and can get to work killing them instead of figuring them out. That means: MORE SCARY MONSTERS. In Circle of Enemies, Ray can barely catch his breath from killing one roomful of terrifying creatures from the darker reaches of Harry Connolly's twisted imagination before a decaying, tumor-ridden
