These characters felt real. I really liked Micah's character and understand his inner turmoil over feelings of betrayal from his family. He could be strong, but also showed that he was sensitive, especially as he interacts with Kate and takes her fate into consideration within the framework of his own personal choices. (Katherine is the young woman Micah rescues when he takes back control of her castle after the Scots who killed her family & imprisoned her flee.)
