DESCRIPTION:
A Customer said Outstanding Resource. This book places an outline of world history in an attractive format. There are color maps and illustrations to accompany the highlights of different time periods. There are sections about languages, rulers, politics, agriculture, inventions, and more. A time chart with specific dates runs along the right hand page. Follo. Text heavy, brief Tabers I got this as a cheaper alternative to the more comprehensive timelines of world history for my 5-year-old. I found the pictures to be small and washed-out, and rather text-heavy for an illustrated guide to world history. It's also very brief, providing just a little glimpse at each major time period.
A 16-page reference section at the end includes time charts, world maps, and a glossary. Step-by-step sequences describe such things as the growth and decline of empires, and the movements of armies. Works of art, significant people, buildings and artifacts are shown in illustrations and photographs. There are full placenames and general indexes.. Picture maps illustrate ways of life, and trade and exploration routes. Throughout, the maps are fully labelled so that places are seen in context. Each page contains detailed colour maps, accompanied by clear, explanatory text. This atlas spans the whole of history from the formation of the earth until the late 20th century
