DESCRIPTION:
Easy to understand, very practical and helpful for teachers This could be the most easy to understand linguistics book I have ever read. The authors bring many practical examples to demonstrate those abstract linguistic terms. Also, it emphasizes the sociolinguistic and sociocultural way to think about language and language teaching. My favorite part is the practical strategies at the end of each part and the case studies at the end of each chapter. They give you a much clearer blueprint about why you need to learn linguitics as a teacher and how you can use it to help your students.Even though there's some errors and inappropriate parts, I still recommend . Five Stars Janie Great, clear, simplified foundations of Linguistics. Highly recommended for beginners and those who need to refresh their basics.. and Applying Linguistics is literally one of the most relevant and easy-to-read books out there for teachers I'm reading this book for a Curriculum Instruction course, and Applying Linguistics is literally one of the most relevant and easy-to-read books out there for teachers. It's perfect for those who get excited about learning new languages and enjoy a bit of philosophical inquiry.
